I would like for ViewController1 to load and then slide right to reveal ViewController2, and then when done, ViewController2 slides left to become hidden and ViewController1 slides back in to reveal it. How do I go about this? A: A possible solution would be to add (in viewDidLoad of ViewController1) the second controller as a property of first and remove it when the user is done using it. An other solution could be to use the navigation controller in the same way for both viewControllers. You could also use a container view controller for both. Q: What is an appropriate frequency for oscillation with 100 % duty cycle? I've been tinkering with using an NPN BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor) to oscillate a coil of wire in my garage radio. Here's the info I've found so far: Transistor Input Voltage: 10 to 15 Volts (standard 12VDC car power outlet or charger) Regulator: 10-13 Volts (standard car power supply) Potential divider/signal voltage: 3.3 Volts Current: 1 to 2 Amps I'm finding that as I increase the potential divider voltage, oscillation at higher frequencies doesn't start in the low 5 Hz range. If I increase the potential divider voltage by too much, a sinusoidal waveform starts to build up around 4-5 Hz (not in the 3.3 What's New In? The Dangers of Public Corruption November 8, 2000 If every department clerk charged with a financial crime just filed that crime in the public's eye, corruption would become a matter of public record. If every judge, prosecutor and legislature that tried to buy off the vote used the public's money to fund a political campaign, they'd find themselves under scrutiny. If one politician were to pad her campaign coffers by accepting donations from a publicly-funded political action committee, she'd be caught by taxpayers. And if every corporate executive whose company was being ordered to pay millions of dollars for environmental harms were forced to detail their plans for cleaning up the mess at a press conference, there would be some accountability. Unfortunately, our government is structured like a corporation. Government officials can take money from special-interest groups and use them to pay for public office. And as we've been seeing during the past five years, those interests have had a tendency to outnumber the people. In the mid-1990s, a group of people called the Citizens United Foundation filed an antitrust lawsuit, arguing that political donations from government officials were hurting free speech. The Supreme Court agreed, and in a 5-4 decision handed down this summer, the court declared that the First Amendment protects the right to spend unlimited amounts of money on campaign advertisements. Our constitutional protections against excessive government expenditures are both more important and more onerous than our protection against free speech. The government has its rights, but that doesn't mean it doesn't need to be constrained. Our free-speech protection must include limits, as well as a place for free speech. The court has put them in place, but we'll continue to see that those limits are overridden by corporate influence. Our law already has a few checks against such abuses. A court can set a price that government officials are required to charge for their services. When taxpayers are footing the bill, however, they lose that protection. If one government official receives special consideration, all government officials benefit, as long as they receive the same benefit. Corporate interests aren't the only threat to our democracy. These kinds of corruption are also a threat.
